As a quick look back in history and for the fun of it here is a Delta Airlines advert posted back in 2008 -

And just for a contrast to see how things change in time, (9 years later) here is another quick promo video for Delta posted in 2017.

As a flight attendant, like all airlines, you are the face of the company and you must be passionate about maximizing each customers experience while promoting the Delta brand.

If you are at least 18 years of age, possess at least a H.S. diploma/GED equivalent, and possess current authorization to work in the U.S. you are qualified to apply for a flight attendant position with Delta.

By the way, most Delta Airlines jobs and particularly that of flight attendant will require you to have a great aptitude, work expertise and hospitality experience.

If this describes you then read on for more about Delta airlines...

Their fleet that you would fly on includes Airbus aircraft as well as a line of Boeings.  The Boeing fleet extends from the 124-seat 737 aircraft to the 403-seat 747.  It includes aircraft from the McDonnell-Douglas DC and MD series.

  • Airbus planes have been manufactured since the Sixties by a consortium of European companies based in France. Worldwide, Airbus supplies about one plane for every four sold by Boeing. The company works to reduce pollution and environmental disruption. Its planes are manufactured to facilitate staff training and improve customer comfort.
  • Boeing, founded in 1916, merged with McDonnell Douglas in the late Nineties. Its base of operations moved from Seattle to Chicago in 2001. This company is proactively researching alternative biofuels. It sets the standard for other manufacturers throughout the world.

Delta spells out its responsibilities for customer service in twelve key points.  They cover the customer's initial phone contact to determine and compare flight routes and pricing.  Refund assistance is also clearly spelled out.  Traveling and check-in policies are clearly defined, and passengers can access information immediately about all types of travel situations.

Delta partners include SkyTeam Partners and SkyTeam Associates, Air France, and Tristar Worldwide Chauffeur Services.  SkyTeam operates Aeroflot, AeroMexico, Alitalia, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, and others.  Tristar simplifies transportation to and from Kennedy Airport in New York and Heathrow in London.  These partners operate aircraft from Boeing and also:

  • Airbus, including the popular A319s and the mini-bus A318s
  • Embraer, especially the smaller E-170 that was launched in 2001.
  • Bombardier, including the CRJ700 series from Canada.

Delta offers its SkyMiles to provide travel credits for the non-corporate traveler.  In response to consumer requests for the convenience of a check card, Delta has partnered with Sun Trust.  And since October 2009, the Northwest Airlines WorldPerks program has been integrated into the SkyMiles program.  For business travelers, Delta has merged its Biz Perks into its newer Sky Bonus program.

  • This program boasts 575 destinations based on six continents.
  • Fliers can elect advantages from partners including NutriSystems, DentalPlans.com, car rental and shuttle providers, and other premium providers.
  • Partner points can be converted to miles.
  • Travelers can earn rewards from SkyMiles cruises.

What does it mean to be part of Delta's team?

Delta states that "...our strength lies in our people.  We are committed to diversity."  Delta views its flight attendants as "truly, the face of Delta".

That means that you are front line in the truest sense of the word. It’s about winning the hearts of passengers. It’s about creating brand loyalty  through service and you the person, the company representative. It’s about passion for what you do and positive promotion of the Brand in the way you go about your job.

Delta believes that diversity is a fulfillment of their cultural promise, especially relevant considering the worldwide span of travel destinations.  There are affinity groups for Blacks or African Americans, Women, Gay and Lesbian employees, Latin Americans or Hispanics, and Asians and Pacific Islanders.

A fantastic opportunity exists

Delta Airlines jobs are open to an Employee Referral Program and Delta run this program because experience has shown them that employees tend to recruit qualified candidates who, once hired, tend to continue their employment. Obviously this is a huge plus to any employer.

Is this you and do you know a Delta Airlines jobs holder?

The program is designed for existing workers to refer friends, family and/or acquaintances that they feel have the right skills and attitude to make outstanding contributions to Delta

Delta believe that their people are the best in the industry and want to employ people with the same qualities to make them one great airline.

Delta Airlines jobs provide workers fantastic benefits either free or at a reduced rate such as:

  • Worldwide travel benefits for you, your family, and guests.
  • Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance for yourself and for your domestic partner.
  • Retirement and profit-sharing plans.
  • Lifestyle achievements, including vacation and gift-matching programs.
  • Human resources support.
