Code sharing also operates to their served regions including Australia.
Those code sharing flights down-under cover Melbourne to Singapore, Singapore to Brisbane, Singapore to Sydney and Kuala Lumpur to Melbourne.

First up, 'STUFF' you should know. Recruitment in NACIL (Air India, Indian) and its subsidiaries is free and is done only after the vacancies are notified. However, after vacancies are publicised and as per the notification or advertisement be that web or traditional media, an application fee may be required from the applicant. This will be in the form of a Demand Draft or Postal Order drawn in favour of the Company.
Air India also do not operate under the same Governance, employment or labour laws as many other Westernised countries. Therefore many of the requirements will be seen quite differently to many other airlines.
NOTE: Incidentally, an Air India Flight Attendant may also be required to undertake ground duties at different stations and times as required at the Airport or offices. Air India also stipulates how many males or females it wants to employ. Obviously this is not allowed to be stated in many other countries.
Resumes: Air India gives you a specific form (online) that is in effect your resume, to fill out. You must be an Indian national and meet the following criteria as quoted from Air India to apply as an Air India Flight Attendant:Height Minimum for:
Male : 172 cms (5’8”)
Female : 160 cms (5’3”)
(Relaxation of 5 cms (2”) for SC/ST candidates and those hailing from North- East States & hilly areas. This relaxation will be granted to candidates who produce a Certificate of Domicile of this area).
In proportion to height as per Company’s standard (as per the publicised charts - See the website for men and women weight charts, suffice to say they are very strict in their requirements).
Your near Vision can be N/5 in your best eye and N/6 in your worst eye. Your distant vision can be 6/6 in one eye and 6/9 in another eye. Spectacles or previous corrective surgery to your eyes is NOT permitted however contact lenses up to +2D permitted. Colour blindness is also not permitted and your colour vision should be normal when tested on the Ishihara Chart.
Obviously your grooming must be excellent and your complexion should be clear and free from blemishes, scars and birth marks. You must sport an appeasing smile with regular and even looking teeth.
It is extremely important that you have clear speech and good command of the English language with no stammering, lisping or unintelligible dialect.
There is a defined age limit for Air India Flight Attendant applicants being not less than 18 years and not more than 24 years.
NOTE: This definition is normally taken from the time of publication of job advertisement. There is sometimes a relaxation to the age rule dependent upon previous experience and can extend up to a period of 6 years. The upper age limit is also relaxable for a period of up to 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC candidates. Ex-Service-personnel will be granted relaxation in age as per Government rules.
You should be fluent in English and one or more Indian languages. Extra preference will be given to those applicants who Applicants with a Diploma or Degree in Hotel Management & Catering Technology or if you are conversant with Arabic or any other foreign language. Preference is also given for those who have successfully undergone a Course in First Aid.
NOTE: The Aviation first Aid for Flight Attendants manual is a free bonus of the
AIRLINES Be a Flight Attendant program. It should also be noted that much of the cover letter and resume information included in Video Manual 1 will not be applicable to Air India flight attendant applicants because they supply a very strict formatted application form. However, the rest of the contents and bonuses will be invaluable.

• You should be dynamic and have a friendly hospitable disposition
•You will be required to have a valid Indian Passport at the time of joining
Air India Flight Attendant Contracts:
Normally you will be appointed a fixed term contract for a period of three years, which could be terminated at the discretion of the Management during the tenure or in the event of being unsuccessful during your training or for being unsatisfactory in your performance as measured against the company requirements. The job is transferable to any station in India.
